FABRICATION OF PHEMA/SILICA NANOPARTICLE HYBRID NANOFIBER VIA
ELECTROSPINNING

Organic-inorganic hybrid nanofiber of PHEMA/silica nanoparticles was prepared by
electrospinning. This hybrid fiber was characterized by SEM, TEM, TGA and DSC etc. The
results indicated that silica nanoparticles with diameter of 13nm were embedded in nanofibers
with average diameter below 200nm. Concentrations and compositions of mixed solvent were
found to have significant effect on the morphology of the hybrid nanofibers.
